2007 AvAr Project: Jimmy Camp B-24J

On September 14, 1944, at 16:16 Hrs. MWT, USAAF B-24J, No. 42-73359, crashed to earth approximately 5 miles North/Northeast of Peterson Field, Colorado Springs, CO. All nine crewmen aboard were instantly killed.

Based on its many unique attributes and somewhat controversial background, Jimmy Camp has been selected as AvAr's principal lowlands training site two years in a row. In addition, AvAr has entered into an agreement with the City of Colorado Springs to survey and excavate this site. Current site design has the entire project scheduled for completion in 2011 (48 months).
